HARRISBURG, Pa. — Multiple organizations joined legislators at the Pennsylvania State Capitol today to discuss efforts to modernize the state's Small Games of Chance Law.

The law currently permits Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), American Legions, Moose Clubs, Elks Clubs and other non-profit organizations to offer limited types of paper-based games to support the clubs, missions and local charitable endeavors

PlayPA for Charity, the VFW Department of Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania State Elks Association and the Pennsylvania Moose Association were the organizations in attendance to discuss the Small Games of Chance Law.

"We need these charitable games in order to get our VFWs able to support their communities better, make it electronic and bring it into the 21st century or even further, and if we can't make these changes within the law, then it really affects us," said Barbara Loncar, VFW state commander.

Representatives say that a modernized law could double the revenue the organizations receive from charitable gaming.
